An overnight rainstorm brought gusty winds and chilly air, but Nicole and Karan’s destination wedding was still full of warmth and love. (… and the perfect excuse for Nikki to throw on a stylish feather jacket during the reception!)
By dreaming up their own take on the classic “white wedding” look, the team at Bash Please and Siren Floral Co. created an incredible space in the courtyard of Santa Monica Catholic Church that was both equally elegant and playful. Olive branches and long-stemmed dahlias were sprinkled along the aisle, and guests were treated to wool shawls and bouquets of rosemary upon arrival. The priest - in an effort to combat the unexpected cold - kept the ceremony short and sweet, and then it was off to Malibu Canyon for dinner and drinks!
Held at a private estate with sweeping views of the Canyon, the evening’s reception was nothing short of magical. While a saxophonist and record-spinning DJ echoed the couple’s favorite tunes throughout the mountains, custom cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Whoa Nelly Catering were happily received by the arriving guests. And to really set the mood? A show-stopping sunset over the Canyon that had everyone grabbing for their phones. Nearby, gorgeous white floral arrangements and personalized menus decorated the tables, and, once the last bit of color faded into darkness, a breathtaking blanket of stars decorated the sky.
To close out their intimate wedding weekend, Nikki and Karan had envisioned an unforgettable dinner party amongst friends and family, and I think they got just that.
